HCC Foundation taps

Action on the matter came during the organization's annual meeting on May 17.
Named to the board are Chappel Allen, chief executive officer and owner of Kentucky Machine and Engineering Inc., Cadiz; Kyong "Wendy" Anderson, president/CEO of KCA Corp. in Hopkinsville; Tom Bell III of State Farm Insurance Agency, Hopkinsville; Jo Glover, supervisor of instruction for Todd County public schools; Jackie Jones, general manager of Quality Personnel, Hopkinsville; Hiromi "Harry" Kanoh, president of Copar Inc., Hopkinsville; James Quarles Jr., computer programmer/analyst with Kentucky Derby Hosiery Inc., Hopkinsville; and Karen Sassen, human resources manager of Meritor Suspension Systems Co., Hopkinsville.
"It is a pleasure to announce the addition of these individuals to the Foundation," said Mike Foster, Christian County attorney and Foundation president. "I would like to commend Hill Ferguson III of Planters Bank and the work of his membership nominating committee. They have once again identified an extraordinary group of community leaders who truly believe in the mission of our community college."
Additionally, the foundation elected three existing members for new, three–year terms; they are Bryan Blount, a Realtor with Baker Realtors; Sam Brown, vice president of financial services with Jennie Stuart Medical Center; and Anna Dean Hammond, a certified public accountant and regional office supervisor with the Kentucky Division of Audits.
Executive officers elected for 2000–2001 include Foster, president; Lana Bastin of Bastin Optometric Clinic, vice president; and Sam Brown, secretary–treasurer.
Stan Polete, an IT consultant with Software Technology Inc., was recognized for his service to the Foundation as secretary–treasurer from 1999–2001, and Alan Beard of Hughart and Beard Funeral Home was recognized for his service as secretary–treasurer from 1997–98.
The Hopkinsville Community College Foundation Inc. is the officially–recognized fund–raising entity supporting HCC.
