Trapp named Vice President of CoPAR, Inc.

A Hopkinsville man has been named Vice President of CoPAR, Inc., which operates two plants in Christian County.

John Trapp will assume overall responsibility for the effective operations of CoPAR's Copper Brass and Aluminum divisions, according to a news release from CoPAR President, Harry Kanoh.

The selection of Trapp for the newly created position was announced this week.

Trapp previously served as plant manager of CoPAR's Aluminum Division.

Prior to joining CoPAR in September 2001, Trapp had various management positions with Meritor Suspension Systems Co., including five years as a plant manager of their Hopkinsville facility.

A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Trapp and his wife, Anne, moved to Hopkinsville in 1992 with their son, Ian, and daughter, Stephanie.

"John has maintained a high level of community involvement in Hopkinsville and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Hopkinsville-Christian County Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and Pennyroyal Arts Council," Kanoh said.  "CoPAR is excited to have John assume this important role as (we) develop and implement strategies that will result in continued growth and increased employment in the Hopkinsville-Christian County Area."

CoPAR, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Toyo Radiator Group in Japan, employs approximately 280 employees at its two manufacturing facilities in the local industrial parks.  The company is a supplier of radiators, oil coolers, and other heat transfer equipment to the automotive, construction and agricultural industries.

Trapp and his family also are members of the First Presbyterian Church of Hopkinsville.
